Preparations are in full swing for the most important event of the year in Enduro and e-Enduro mountain biking: the inaugural edition of the UCI Mountain Bike Enduro and E-enduro World Championships. The wait is almost over; soon, the UCI will announce the athletes selected by their respective National Federations, unveiling how the teams will be formed in the paddock.
This historic and prestigious event will also welcome many notable figures, including representatives from the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), the Italian Cycling Federation (FCI), as well as mayors and organizing delegates from the five Italian locations that have elevated Enduro in Italy and worldwide over the past decade: Punta Ala, Finale Ligure, La Thuile, Pietra Ligure, and of course, Val di Fassa.
Those who have followed this young gravity format of the mountain bike discipline from its inception know the rapid growth it has seen in Italy: starting with recognition by the Italian Federation in 2011, followed by the internationally debut of the Enduro World Series in Tuscany in 2013, successful events in the Aosta Valley and the development of e-Enduro in Liguria. Now, in 2024, we reach the pinnacle with the first UCI Mountain Bike Enduro and e-Enduro World Championships. This is a crucial milestone for the sport and all enthusiasts are invited to celebrateit from September 12th to 15th in Val di Fassa, Trentino, Italy.
Spectators will have the opportunity to:
- Explore the free-access event village, which includes the start/finish area and team paddock, where they can get up close to athletes, mechanics, and industry professionals.
- Follow the action and cheer on the athletes directly from the trail, with lifts available for quick movement to cover multiple special stages.
- Attend the awards ceremonies and celebrate the crowning of the first Enduro and e-Enduro World Champions.
- Take advantage of the diverse sports and hospitality offerings in Val di Fassa to make their stay during the event even more enjoyable.
To encourage participation from enthusiasts, the Organizing Committee and local operators have created a special accommodation/lift pass package available at discounted prices, which can be found here: https://events.fassabike.com/accommodation/.
Additionally, a convenient, continuously updated Spectator Map is available to consult, showing all points of interest, lifts, event logistics, village services, race stages as soon as they are available, and the best spots from a show and entertainment perspective. A large screen will be installed in the start/finish area to follow the final stage live, ensuring not a moment of the final battle for the coveted rainbow jerseys and World Championship Titles in the Men and Women Enduro and e-Enduro categories is missed.
The racecourse will be announced on Friday, September 6th. From that moment on, the trails involved in the UCI Mountain Bike Enduro & E-enduro World Championship racing will be closed to the public. However, all other trails in the Val di Fassa Bike District will remain accessible and open to everyone. The area offers a stunning scenic backdrop with the UNESCO World Heritage Dolomites of Fassa and numerous sports activities that can be booked at the Fassa Sport Check Point offices.
