Practice Done in Val di Fassa – Trentino: Tomorrow, It’s Time to Race

Two days of practice are now behind us, with plenty of kilometres and elevation already in the riders’ legs. Lines have been studied, line choices made and race strategies are taking shape, both for the UCI Enduro World Cup athletes and the Shimano Enduro Open riders.

The official practice for the 2026 UCI Enduro World Cup Val di Fassa Trentino and the Shimano Enduro Open came to an end today after two very different days: the first entirely pedal-powered, the second featuring a mix of chairlifts and pedal transfers. A complete taste of what awaits the riders over the race weekend.

Perfect weather, dry but not dusty trails thanks to brief afternoon showers, and a course offering countless line choices and different ways to interpret the terrain. In many sections, riders were faced with multiple options, making it difficult to remember every detail once race pace kicks in. Add to that physical sections, off-cambers, roots, rocks and long flowing stretches where carrying speed without wasting energy will be crucial.

The overall feedback has been remarkably consistent: to perform well in Val di Fassa this year, riders will need to find the right balance between pushing hard and staying composed, managing their energy—especially on the pedal transfers—as well as their speed and the many challenges the terrain presents.

Over these two days, competitors had the opportunity to ride across all the main sectors of the resort: Col Rodella, Belvedere, Ciampac and, today, Arabba, even crossing into the Veneto region. Practice days are where race strategy is built: checking lines, testing speed, reading the terrain and identifying where to attack and where to defend.Now it’s time to recover, make the final adjustments to the bikes and prepare for the first real day of racing.

Tomorrow, Saturday 27 June, the action begins with Day 1 of both the Shimano Enduro Open and the UCI Enduro World Cup.
