2026 UCI Enduro World Cup: Key Updates Ahead of the Season Start
24 April 2026In 2026, PRO and Open riders will once again race on the very same course, in a format that brings enduro even closer to its original spirit.
Registration officially opens today for the Shimano Enduro Open Val di Fassa – Trentino 2026, taking place from 25 to 28 June. The event is the only Italian round of the UCI MTB World Series to feature an open format accessible to non-professional riders as well.

Val di Fassa – Trentino is now firmly established as one of the standout events on the international enduro calendar. Year after year, it continues to rank among the most eagerly awaited and appreciated rounds of the series, regularly reaching full capacity.
But in 2026, there is even more to look forward to.
This new edition marks another important step towards a more authentic and inclusive vision of enduro — one that the Val di Fassa Organising Committee has always strongly believed in and supported.
For the first time within the Enduro Open format:
- Open riders will race the exact same course as the World Cup
- The competition will run over two days for everyone
- There will be two training days
- The paddock will once again be fully shared

It is a meaningful return to the roots of the discipline, where competition, community and the overall race experience take centre stage once again.
Open riders will start just a few hours ahead of the Elite field. While transfer times and stage access will be slightly less restrictive, they will still have the unique opportunity to compare their times directly with the best riders in the world — on the same tracks and in the same conditions.
As required by the regulations, the official race course will only be revealed during the week leading up to the event. However, organisers can already confirm that the route will feature significant descending elevation, mixed transfers — partly pedalled and partly supported by lift systems — and, across four days of training and racing, will offer a demanding overall challenge.

“Because we’ve brought the Open race back to a two-day format, with two days of training, we decided to create a course specifically designed for that structure: fun, with plenty of descending time, but without overloading riders with pedalled climbing. Overall, it will be a tough race, but a manageable one,” says William Basilico, Race Director and representative of the Local Organising Committee.
It is not just the race course that reflects this renewed vision. The paddock, too, will once again be shared by World Cup and Open riders.
This is another decision strongly championed by the Val di Fassa Organising Committee, with the aim of recreating the sense of closeness and belonging that has always made enduro such a unique discipline: fewer barriers, more connection between everyone experiencing the event, at every level.

“We have a beautiful and highly practical paddock and event village setup — spacious, incredibly scenic and with all services close at hand. The Open race will finish the loop in time to allow everyone, riders included, to get ready for the World Cup grand finale on the final special stage. We’ll also have special activations with new partners such as DHaRCO. In short, we’re confident this will be a true celebration of enduro,” says Nicolò Weiss, Director of APT Val di Fassa.
Entries for the Open race are limited to 300 riders, and once again the goal for 2026 is a complete sell-out.
With a technical and well-rounded course spread across multiple sectors of the Val di Fassa Bike District trail network, and with over ten years of experience in organising top-level events, the Trentino round continues to stand out for its quality, identity and ability to innovate while staying true to its roots.
After hosting the first-ever 2024 UCI Enduro & E-Enduro World Championships, Val di Fassa is ready to welcome another major event from the UCI MTB World Series, further confirming its place among the most iconic venues on the circuit.
