Trails, territory, and a touch of Italian glory: the World Cup lights up Val di Fassa – Trentino
29 June 2025
With an intense first day of racing, Val di Fassa officially kicked off the weekend of the WHOOP UCI Enduro World Cup. This iconic Trentino venue has been at the heart of international enduro racing for the past ten years, earning a reputation as one of the most respected and well-loved locations on the World Series circuit.
In 2024, it hosted the first-ever UCI Mountain Bike Enduro & E-Enduro World Championships, and this year it welcomed over 500 riders, both amateurs and professionals, onto the trails of the Fassa Bike District.
Getting things started on Day 1 was the Enduro Open, with nearly 300 participants taking on a 35.7 km course featuring four special stages: 9.90, Glühwein, Tutti Frutti, and Ciasates. It was a technical and scenic route that gave riders a chance to battle it out on some of the area’s most famous lines.
The overall victory went to Germany’s Maximilian Rieker, followed by Italy’s Jacopo Del Principe and Daniel Cavosi. In the women’s race, Austria’s Hanna Huettenmeyer claimed the win. Among the Masters, Alex Lupato and Denmark’s Sandra Bohn Thomsen came out on top, while Daniele Aurame took the Junior title. In the E-Enduro category, it was an all-Italian men’s podium with Bruno Zanchi, Daryl Santi, and Fabio Corradini (Fassa Bike Racing Team), while the women’s race was won by American rider Christine Soprano.

Meanwhile, the PRO race also got underway, immediately challenging riders with three demanding stages — Pecedac, Fassa & Furious, and 9.90 — all connected by fully pedaled transfers.
At the end of Day 1, Nadine Ellecosta (Abetone Ancillotti Vittoria Factory Racing) leads the women’s standings by less than a second over Simona Kuchyňková (Cube Action Team) and Ella Conolly. A stellar performance for the young rider from Trentino, showcasing her talent on the trails she knows best.
